Position Description:

The Department of Criminal Justice invites applications for part-time lecturers to teach online or face-to-face undergraduate courses for Summer 2023, Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters, pending administrative and budgetary approval. Candidates will be reviewed and placed in a pool for consideration as openings arise. Please be advised that the need for part-time instructors varies from semester to semester.

Applicants must apply on-line and attach a single document that contains:

• a letter of application
• a current vitae, including a list of courses taught
• transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable, but official transcripts may be requested later)
• email addresses of at least three academic or professional references

Instructors are expected to utilize Blackboard to submit course syllabus, order textbooks or other reading materials, provide developmentally meaningful feedback, present engaging learning experiences, respond to students in a timely manner, communicate regularly with designated academic program director, submit final grades within university deadlines, and comply with other requests as a part-time lecturer such as completing an attestation disclosure form, along with completing annual evaluations.

Qualifications:

PhD or MA in Criminal Justice or related historical field, experience teaching undergraduates preferred.
